Leisure activities
in the Loire Valley

Touraine is an ideal destination for leisure activities for two, with family or friends, and is a magnificent playground where there's never a dull moment! On the programme: discover troglodyte sites, cycle the Loire route, visit animal parks such as the Beauval Zoo-Park, the mini-châteaux park on the heights of Amboise (castles of the Loire Valley on a scale of 1:25), the large Touraine aquarium... not forgetting all the activities on land, in the water or in the air.

Our hotel with swimming pool in Touraine is an excellent place to relax after a busy day discovering all that Amboise has to offer.

Troglodytic sites

The troglodytic sites in the Val d'Amboise are truly original. The Vallée Troglodytique des Goupillières in Azay-le-Rideau (37) invites you to discover, in an exceptional setting of 2 hectares, rural life and the richness of Touraine's rural heritage.

The troglodytic site of La Magnanerie, the underground town and the mushroom cellar at Bourré (41) offer you the chance to visit a former tufa quarry, a 17th-century magnanerie, an underground town (1,500 m² of sculpted facades) and a cellar where mushrooms are grown in their natural environment.

Beauval Zoo
and the Grand Aquarium de Touraine

Ranked as France's number 1 zoo and one of the most beautiful in the world, Zoo Parc de Beauval is home to almost 6,000 animals, including two giant pandas, the only ones of their kind in France.

It is located in Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher, 40 minutes from the Manoir Saint Thomas. The Grand Aquarium de Touraine, 5 minutes from Amboise, has 10 themed rooms with original decor where you can admire fish living in freshwater and in the oceans. There's a shark tunnel, tropical freshwater, touch tank, etc.

The Loire by bike

Take advantage of the Loire by bike itinerary to discover Touraine in an even more bucolic way! From the ramparts of the Château Royal d'Amboise to the narrow streets of the charming village of Candes-Saint-Martin, you'll enjoy a unique journey through an exceptional heritage.

For just over 200 km, you can admire the châteaux of the Loire Valley, including Amboise, Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Langeais and Chinon, and drive through vineyards and picturesque villages. There are 1001 ways to discover the Loire Valley, and you'll then return to your comfortable luxury hotel, the Manoir Saint Thomas in Amboise.
