A European Award for an Amboise Hotel
Five years after opening, the Manoir Saint-Thomas, an hotel at Amboise, has just received a major award in competition with many other European establishments.
Antonella Pautout is fascinated by interior design, historic buildings and their restoration, however her greatest interest is the ancient manor house that she opened as a hotel together with her husband, Bertrand, in 2004. Already the owners of a hotel at Chenonceaux, they have now created a charming hotel at the Manoir Saint Thomas, on the street of the same name, at the heart of Amboise.
AN AWARD FROM LONDON
The 2009 season ended with a lovely surprise for the couple, when the Manoir was given an award as the “best maison d’hotes” from amongst 300 candidates from more than 20 countries. The English publisher of the international hotel guide Condé Nast Johansens (that also publishes Vogue, Glamour and other magazines) recently decided the 2010 awards at London.
The Manoir Saint Thomas and the Château de Pray at Chargé are the only two establishments in the Central Region of France mentioned in this guide, which selects the most luxurious hotels in the world on the basis of the welcome they offer, their style and their atmosphere.
This award for the Amboise manoir sets the seal for the end of this season and launches the 2010 season. In fact this hotel guide leads, directly or indirectly, nearly half of the guests to choose the hotel for family visits of several days, many of whom return after visits in previous years. It is a diversified clientele nowadays, with less Americans and more guests from Asia, Brazil etc. Altogether an excellent recommendation for the manoir and the town of Amboise.
